Powerplant
Two Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PW530A turbofan
engines are located, one on each side of the rear fuselage,
in easily accessible nacelles.
The PW530A engines produce 2,887 pounds (12.84 kN)
of static takeoff thrust each at sea level, up to 73 degrees
Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius). The turbofan engine has
a bypass ratio of 3.5 to 1.
A continuous loop fire detection system monitors the
nacelle area to detect and warn if a fire occurs. A two shot
fire extinguishing system is supplied. Target-type,
hydraulically actuated thrust reversers are standard.
