Record crowd tunes in for Pelton speech

A record 116 aviation enthusiasts and executives packed the Capital City Club in downtown Atlanta to hear Cessna Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Jack Pelton speak at the Aero Club of Metro Atlanta’s monthly meeting on Oct. 18.

The Aero Club, which bills itself as Atlanta’s aviation networking headquarters, invited Pelton to discuss Cessna’s 80th anniversary, current trends in the general aviation industry and future opportunities and challenges that will affect all aviation sectors.

Members of the Aero Club, which has been an official chapter of the National Aeronautic Association since 1984, represent a variety of commercial and general aviation organizations and businesses. The audience also included numerous Cessna customers, pilots, suppliers and service providers, including Guy Hill, Jr. of Hill Aircraft and Pat Epps of Epps Aviation.

“We were very fortunate to have Jack visit the Atlanta Aero Club and share his perspectives,” said Steve Champness, president of the Aero Club. “Our members’ enthusiasm was obvious – it was the largest turnout we’ve had for a lunch meeting and the question and answer session continued for at least 15 minutes.”
