    Wings

    The revised, gently swept wing design with winglets allows the Sovereign to climb directly to 45,000 feet and cruise for up to 3,000 miles. Navigation and anti-collision strobe lights are built into the wing tips.

    Seating and Cabin Technology

    New passenger seats provide maximum comfort and precise ergonomics. With a design that conforms to the body, armrests that fold completely out of the way, and optional lumbar supports and footrests, you’ll find your travels relaxing and enjoyable.

    The Sovereign’s ClairityTM Cabin Management System features user-friendly touch-screen controllers at passenger seats. Interactive moving map capability as well as integration of smartphones, tablets, and MP3 players, along with an included airborne Internet system, mean you and your passengers never need to be disconnected.

    Cabin size and environment

    Whether you’re accommodating eight or nine passengers, they will all be free to roam in the 68-inch-tall (1.73 m), stand-up cabin, allowing easy access to the refreshment center, private aft lavatory, or closet where carry-ons are stowed neatly out of the way.

    The cabin environment is maintained at sea-level pressure up to  an altitude of 25,000 feet, with a pressure equivalent to 7,230 feet at a certified ceiling of 47,000 feet.

    Cabin amenities

    In the standard configuration, a forward cabin 30-inch refreshment center with beautifully crafted cabinetry serves up in-flight table service items such as catering trays, snacks, and hot beverages from its dual water tanks. It also offers storage for glassware, china, cutlery, ice, and more.

    An aft private lavatory is large enough to double as a stand-up dressing room. It features solid, sliding doors for optimal privacy, a flushing toilet, and a vanity sink with hot and cold water.

    Avionics

    Where skill meets ingenuity

    Prepare for takeoff 

    With an all-new, redesigned cockpit, the Sovereign offers the perfect flying environment for pilots. The Citation IntrinzicTM Flight Deck powered by Garmin G5000TM avionics is a bright, modern, all-glass flight deck that offers the flight department unsurpassed situational awareness with Garmin Synthetic Vision Technology (SVTTM), detailed moving map imagery, electronic charts, traffic surveillance (TCAS II Change 7.1), terrain awareness (Class-A TAWS), and intuitive touch-screen control. And an integrated, workload-reducing autothrottle system enables pilots to prioritize other tasks.

    Modern control panels

    Four intuitive, touch-screen LCD control panels serve as the pilot’s primary user interface. Pilots have access to all flight data via three 14-inch, landscape WXGA high-resolution displays. Each display can function independently as a primary flight display (PFD) or multifunction display (MFD). These displays can also function in multi-pane mode, showing both PFD and MFD side by side on the same screen.

    Two of the four control panels are installed on the center pedestal for MFD control, and two additional panels control each PFD. Pilots can customize displays via the touch-screen control panels, organizing and prioritizing the flight data that’s presented. Additional functionality offered by the control panels includes tuning communication and navigation radios and managing specific aircraft systems.

    Real virtual reality

    Featured on the pilot’s PFD is the Garmin Synthetic Vision Technology (SVTTM) system, offering a virtual reality view of terrain, obstacles, traffic, and runways — everything beyond the windscreen.

    Using the system’s terrain-alerting database, SVT enhances pilots’ situational awareness by creating a dimensional depiction of ground and water features, obstacles, and traffic in proximity to the aircraft. Pilots get a realistic picture of what lies beyond the nose of the Sovereign, even in solid IFR or nighttime VFR conditions. On the secondary display, MFD capabilities can be divided into two vertical pages. This facilitates logical pairing of whatever information makes sense to the pilot during any particular point in the flight sequence. Examples of this include displaying airway charts and approach plates or satellite weather and flight planning simultaneously. At the touch of the glass, pilots can instantly access traffic data, video inputs, radar, alerts, and more.

    Powerplant

    Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D turbofan engines are installed on the new Citation Sovereign. The engine is a twin-spool design with a damage resistant wide chord fan. Behind the fan, four axial and one centrifugal compressor stages lead to a high-efficiency, low-emission, through-flow combustor, and five turbine stages. Two-stage variable inlet guide vanes and bleed-off valves are controlled by the FADEC to optimize compressor performance and engine operability.
