Engine

Far more of everything you want. On far less fuel.

The CJ1+ is powered by a pair of Williams FJ44-1AP engines that deliver even more thrust than the original CJ1 powerplants. But powerful new engines are only part of the performance story. By redesigning the nacelles and pylons and adding a fairing over the main gear wheel, Cessna engineers transformed a significant amount of drag into smooth, streamlined airflow surface. The maximum takeoff weight has increased 100 pounds (45 kg). And the aircraft can now climb directly to 41,000 feet (12,497 m) in 27 minutes – a major improvement from the 58-minute step climb of the earlier CJ1. And max cruise is now 389 knots (720 km/hr).

Efficiency has been elevated as well, with the addition of full-authority digital engine controls (FADEC), which simplify engine operation and reduce pilot workload during the busiest phases of flight.
