Accounting and Finance

“To be the premier finance function in aerospace.”

This is the mission statement of the Cessna Finance Organization. We recognize the value of personal responsibility and initiative, as well as teamwork and leadership skills in our employees. In order to consistently meet and exceed our high standards of quality and service, we rely on our exceptionally talented staff.

Functions of the finance organization include, but are not limited to: Cessna Service Center Accounting, Cost Development, General Accounting, Financial Analysis and Planning, and Internal Audit, Tax and Finance Business Partners.

Internships

We offer summer internships to students majoring in Finance or Accounting. For those students living in the Wichita area, part-time co-op positions may also available.

Our Finance Career Development Program is another option for current students. This 2- to 3- year program prepares qualified entry-level employees for possible placement into future Finance positions. Selected candidates work in a position for a minimum of one year, then rotate annually into other functional areas before graduating from the program. They receive valuable on-the-job training and are given opportunities designed to broaden their understanding of the Cessna organization as a whole.

We also offer a Mentor-Protégé program, designed for career-minded employees selected by the directors from the existing work force. The protégés are given the opportunity to learn more about the culture and methods required to succeed in management through their relationship with their mentor. Protégés meet regularly with their mentors from upper management and participate in group activities.

PLEASE NOTE:  AS A RESULT OF THE CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS, CESSNA AIRCRAFT COMPANY WILL NOT HAVE AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN 2009.   PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS SITE FOR FUTURE INTERNSHIP AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES.

Engineering

With more than 120,000 aircraft in the field, adding nearly 1,000 a year to this number, the Propeller Product Engineering team supports the largest fleet of propeller-driven aircraft in the world. The team’s responsibilities lie in four major areas: propeller aerodynamics, mechanical design, and certification; piston and turbine aircraft avionics and propulsion upgrades; new product development and certification; and support of current manufacture and field aircraft – some of which are as old as the 1940s.
